Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2025

Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Unfair Dismissal UK website and our lead generation services.

IMPORTANT: We are NOT a law firm. We do not provide legal advice or legal representation. We are a marketing service that connects individuals with regulated employment law solicitors.

By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms.

Our Services

What We Do

  • Free online case assessment tools
  • Employment law information and resources
  • Referral services to regulated solicitor firms
  • Matching services to connect you with appropriate legal specialists

What We Do NOT Do

  • Provide legal advice
  • Act as your solicitor or legal representative
  • Handle legal cases or represent clients
  • Accept responsibility for legal outcomes
  • Guarantee any specific solicitor will accept your case

No Legal Relationship

Using our website does NOT create a lawyer-client relationship. Any legal relationship will be between you and the solicitor firm we refer you to.

How Our Service Works

Case Assessment

  1. You complete our free online assessment
  2. We analyze your information using our algorithm
  3. We provide general information about potential claim types and typical compensation ranges
  4. We match you with suitable solicitor firms from our panel

Solicitor Referral

  • We'll refer your details to appropriate solicitor firms on our panel
  • These firms are independently regulated by the SRA, CILEx Regulation, or Bar Standards Board
  • The solicitor firm will contact you directly to discuss your case
  • The solicitor will conduct their own assessment and decide whether to accept your case

Our Panel Solicitors

We work with employment law solicitors who:

  • Are regulated by appropriate legal regulatory bodies
  • Hold professional indemnity insurance
  • Specialize in employment law
  • Offer various fee structures including no win no fee

We receive referral fees from solicitor firms for successful introductions. This does not affect the service you receive or the fees you pay to the solicitor.

Case Assessment Disclaimer

Not Legal Advice

Our case assessment tool provides general information only, uses algorithms based on typical tribunal awards, cannot account for all case-specific factors, does NOT constitute legal advice, and cannot guarantee any specific outcome.

Compensation Estimates

Estimated compensation amounts are based on Ministry of Justice Employment Tribunal statistics, represent typical ranges for similar case types, cannot predict your specific outcome, may differ significantly from actual awards, and should be treated as guidance only.

No Guarantee of Service

Completing our assessment does not guarantee that a solicitor will accept your case, any specific compensation amount, that you have a valid legal claim, or success in any legal proceedings.

Fees and Costs

Our Services Are Free

There is no charge to you for using our website, completing our case assessment, or receiving a solicitor referral.

Solicitor Fees

If you proceed with a solicitor we refer, you contract directly with that solicitor, not with us. Fees are agreed between you and the solicitor. We are not responsible for solicitor fees or fee disputes.

Referral Fees

We receive compensation from solicitor firms for successful referrals. This is paid by the solicitor, not by you, and does not increase your legal fees or affect the independence of legal advice you receive.

Your Information

By using our service, you consent to us sharing your information with solicitor firms on our panel for case assessment (typically up to 3 solicitor firms per referral). Solicitors are independent data controllers. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Time Limits - URGENT

Strict Deadlines Apply

Employment claims have strict time limits:

  • Most claims: 3 months minus 1 day from dismissal/incident
  • Some discrimination claims: 6 months
  • ACAS Early Conciliation can extend deadlines

We are NOT responsible for missed deadlines. You are responsible for contacting us promptly, following up with solicitors quickly, meeting all legal deadlines, and acting on solicitor advice.

Accuracy of Information

You must provide truthful and accurate information, complete disclosure of relevant facts, and timely updates on changes to your circumstances. False or incomplete information may result in inaccurate case assessments, inappropriate solicitor matches, solicitors declining your case, or missed deadlines.

Website Information

Content on our website is for general information purposes, does not constitute legal advice, may not reflect recent legal changes, cannot account for case-specific factors, and should not be relied upon without professional advice.

Employment law changes regularly, cases are highly fact-specific, tribunal decisions vary, and we cannot guarantee information is complete or current.

Third-Party Solicitors

Independent Firms

Solicitors on our panel are independent legal practices, separately regulated by SRA/CILEx Regulation/BSB, responsible for their own professional conduct, and subject to their own terms and conditions.

No Liability for Solicitor Actions

We are not liable for quality of legal services provided by solicitors, professional negligence by solicitors, fee disputes with solicitors, outcomes of legal cases, solicitor communication or conduct, or any losses arising from solicitor services.

Complaints About Solicitors

Contact the solicitor firm directly first. If unresolved, contact the Legal Ombudsman (legalombudsman.org.uk) or the solicitor's regulatory body.

We cannot resolve complaints about legal services as we do not provide them.

Limitation of Liability

As our referral service is provided free of charge, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. We provide the service "as is" without warranties.

We are not liable for legal advice or services provided by third-party solicitors, case outcomes, missed deadlines, solicitor negligence, website errors, or reliance on general website information.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 and our Privacy Policy.
